Marketing Strategies : Two sides of coin

To get Success in business, one should first think about its marketing strategies. With the help of these marketing strategies, the future path is defined. But sometimes it will lead to failure also due to false marketing practices. Advertisements play a vital role in this marketing strategies. When these advertisements are shown on television or circulated on the radio, then it is also known as commercials. Most of the companies using it in a brilliant way & some of them are choosing wrong practices to just build the business. 

While choosing the advertising strategy, companies should make sure that it will give eye-catching & meaningful message through it. But unfortunately, there are some ads on television which give a negative impact in some context. It shows that it has two sides, both Positive & Negative. We need to analyse which one to choose. Here I will give you some examples of both sides. 

Positive Side

You may observe that in the last two decades, companies were showing only women in the ads for washing the clothes or cleaning. But now some detergent companies started a good initiative to show men in ads of washing & cleaning. It's clearly showing that the mindset has been changed.  The mentality of Indian ads was like only women were supposed to do those things. But now it has been completely changed which is good. It gives a strong message to society that men & women should do chores evenly. 

One more detergent advertise was there which gives you a strong message to respect all religions & enjoy the festivals in unity. It was shown in the advertising that how children are giving value to each other while playing colors. Somehow, this kind of ads makes impact on people to buy that product.

The one which I like the most was given by a tea brand. It was an eye-opener for those who are tired to live with their parents. Son leaves his Old father, but realizes his fault & then he meets his father. If you can give a strong message to your audience then It builds trust within the audience & automatically they will get attracted towards your products.

Negative Side

Indian audience is crazy about cricket. All people like to watch their favourite teams match. Recently there was one advertise which talks about one application & encouraging the audience to leave the family members for some time, watch the matches alone & chat with friends. I feel very sad, how can one say that to leave the family members for just watching cricket matches. It was such disgusting advertisement which is against our culture. 

Another advertisement comes to my mind, which was for the e-learning app. They send a message through their ads, that every child should learn to code. Here, I am not against any company. But how can you decide that every child of India wants to learn only coding?  There are so many engineers who knows the coding, most of them have no jobs still. They are still in a race to get a job. Some of them working on very less pay scale. Are you joking about them? Everyone has different dreams, they have different fields to choose like singing, playing, dancing, acting, engineering, medical, agriculture etc. It shows false advertising strategy to just build the company. 

One more advertisement is there, which impacts a negative side. Most of the fairness creams are claiming that only fair people will get success or only fair people will impress anyone. It shows if you are dark then you have no future. Seriously? After the black lives matters campaign, some of the fairness creams removed their ads. But surely this is not the way to advertise by giving fake promises to your customers. 

Conclusion :

I would like to give a suggestion here that if you asked me the factor which connects the audience through advertising. Then it must be emotions & feelings. Attract the audience by giving some valuable inputs in terms of social message. It will create a positive framework in the minds of customers. With the change in current scenarios, companies must focus on change management. If you observe you will find two sides of any coins.
